Let's consider that you have just finished your brand-new AR and funds are alittle low. You're going to ask for a gift card for Christmas (to purchase "Name Brand" ie: AimPoint, EoTech, Trijicon, etc...), but until then what would be your choice for optics, holo, red-dot or acog? Just wondering.... Thanks BDP |

A huge +1 for irons again. I used an ARMS #40A2 (and then a LaRue BUIS) as my only sight on my M4gery for quite some time. It currently still sports the LR BUIS, but now an Aimpoint ML3 - the primary sighting mechanism, of course - as well. (My other AR is a retro, and needless to say, just has the standard A1 irons.) People seem to becoming over-reliant on optics these days. You should become proficient with a weapon first using irons, and only add optics to provide more of a convenience than a necessity. |

The practical side of an Ar15 build project (unless money is no objectl) is building what you want, the way you want piece by piece. This is what I have gathered from many of y'all on tis site. I don't know how to add images, but what I have on hand is a DPMS A2 rear Site. I will be using this until funds are available to purchase some type of optics. Maybe it's another post, but how do you add pictures so I can show pictures of my build? Thanks, BDP |
Open photobucket account. Upload pics from your computer to photobucket. Link to photobucket images. Bingo! |

Well here goes. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii244/ap52fordf1/dpmsa2rear.jpg Hopefully this will show the DPMS Rear Site I bought for my M4. Thanks Mike for the help getting this setup. |
Not a problem. I doubt you'll have any issues or complaints with that rear BUIS. I was serious about using trijicon irons in whatever rear/front BUIS you choose as well. That link I provided even supplies the front sight tool. Not bad night sights on the cheap. |
