I am looking at doing my first build. If anyone on here has used a model 1 kit or upper before, how is the quality and how did your rifle turn out?

Thanks

Built a 7.62x39mm AR with a M1S kit - the upper's fine, but the kit left a little to be desired.

Got this kit from M1S,   well minus the kat,    built it on a RRA lower,
Ran fine,  but the pins would walk due to either the hammer spring being to big or detents in pins were too small.   ran flawless though  think the total was like $700 minus Rec.   But as you can see it has a few upgrades.

This is a Del Ton M4 kit  built on a Cav Yellow Rec,

And   Middy SS kit I got from M&A Parts,  Marked RRA Upper,  with RRA Barrel

Model 1 Sales Again,  and again   walking pins on the lower.

Cannot complain about their stuff to much  except have had horrible luck with their LPK's,   Next kit I have my eyes on is a Middy kit from Del-Ton

Or....   the best deal on the market now is the "used"  rifles from CMMG or whatever.   great reports on those.    and already assembled  and none of my "builds"   have based out at   $570  with the cost of the reciever.  especially since I live in TX and have to pay tax for M1S kits.

I didn't have any problems with my M1S kit.  However, quality was low, as was the price.  Their prices have gone up since.  If I was to get a kit today, I'd probably go with Del-Ton.

This is a M1S kit. I didnt use one of their bolts, and it now has a STR stock. The lower is Double Star.
