I am about to reprofile my HBAR 16" midlength barrel to a 16" SPR to cut some weight at work with one of the lathes. We have a bead blaster and I was thinking I could just blast the barrel after the profile to rough it up and get it ready for Moly-resin to match the rest of the gun, but would this be anywhere near the same as parkerizing? I don't want to spend the extra cash on a park kit if I could just bead blast it and have it work just as well. Thanks.

That should work fine, you want to have a roughed up finish for most finishes anyway. Park would add somemore scratch resistance and corrosion resistance but it's not required under a "paint" job.
