I'm trying to decide between a RRA NM 2 stage trigger, or spending even more on a Timney. Is the Timney worth it? I will be using this for coyote hunting and I want it to be very accurate.. thanks in advance for any advice. |

The only Geissele available right now is the almost $300 one. It is a very nice trigger. The cheaper Geissele, with which nobody has any experience to speak of yet, is still a few weeks away. I like my Geissele, a lot. It is a crisp two stage. My Timney is a single stage and it is also a nice trigger, but it's a different animal - very "eager." I think which is best depends a lot on the shooter. If you want a two stage you might wait a few weeks for the new, non-adjustable Geissele which will be ~$150. If you like single stage triggers, in that price range I can heartily recommend Jard. |
I have a single stage Timney and as you say, it's very "eager." The actual pull seems much lower than the four pounds would lead you to believe. There is very little travel and the break is very smooth. I recently put this trigger on a 20" Hbar and I am still getting used to it but so far I am very happy. This was the easiest trigger replacement I've ever gone through. |
| I did the JP first, it is like a tuned Remington 700 trigger no take up and almost 0 overtravel, the experience taught me something you can have to nice of a trigger on a hunting rifle you will be shooting with gloves on at times, a friend did the RRA two stage I tried it, sold the JP and now have the RRA I think it is perfect for a hunting AR, but that is just my opinion. |
