Hello,
I have never built an AR type rifle and am wanting to assemble a lower receiver. How much should a lower receiver parts kit cost? Where can I find Colt lower receiver parts or parts kits? Are all parts interchangeable with M16 parts? Thanks.

Look, if you're really serious about building a semi auto AR15 type rifle, and not looking for a sneaky way to build something illegal, then you should peruse the sections of this site that explain how to go about building an AR. Note from the start though, that current Colt lower recievers have different size pin holes than everyone elses, so that using a current production Colt lower in a build involves using different  (and more expensive) internal parts.

Assuming your question about use of M16 parts was asked in innocence, the answer is that some of the M16 parts can be modified to make them legal in a semi auto AR15. The hammer and diconnector are especially easy to change over. If, however, they are installed in an unmodified state, that can be construed by the feds as "intent" to make a illegal weapon, and get you a federal criminal charge.
