I picked up a no name 11.5 upper for my SBR and I put my colt carry handle on it and it shoots way left, to the point that the rear sight at its max at 50 yds. What could be wrong? and how do I fix it? I thought about just putting my eotech on and calling it good.

not to be a dick, but are you sure it isn't you? have you had someone else shoot it?

Bad barrle install or your FSB is canted.

reinstall barrel and/or fix fsb.

+1

Also, check upper receiver face: make sure that it is square to the rest of the upper.  I've only had one upper that was square.  Most are not off so much that your impact will be as off as you are having; at 200 or more yards, it will be noticeable.

When installing barrel, make sure that you have enough torque on the barrel nut.  I've seen several name brand ARs (BM and RRA) whose barrel nuts I removed by hand.  Once torqued properly, group size decreased dramatically.

Another +1.

This is often the most common problem.

Ya I'm sure that its not the way I'm shooting I can shoot touching holes at 25 with an eotech  on it. How does one fix a canted fsb?

I’ve corrected canted FSB’s by tapping them with a rubber mallet.

There’s also the possibility that the whole barrel indexing is off. This would require loosening of the barrel nut to correct, a bit more involved requiring special tools.

I had this same problem with a used A2 upper I bought here on ARFCOM.  Randall at ar15 barrels suggested removing the barrel nut, sticking a pry bar in the FS, and prying it in the opposite direction of the rear sight.  The barrel should rotate inside the barrel extension.  Worked great for me and only took one try.  Good luck to ya
