I have a Colt AR15A2 Model 6600. Of course it has the large diameter front pivit "pin" and to remove the upper from the lower you must unscrew it. I found in some old parts I have a replacement pin the is the same size as the original pin, but has a "detent" ball on one side. You push this pin in one side and the detent ball retracts into the pin and then pops back out when the pin exits the other side. This is a nice and easy way of using a "push pin" pivit pins on the older Colt guns. It works fine, BUT, the darn thing (at least the one I have) is made of hard black plastic (or maybe reinforced nylon)! Because of this, it looks cheap and I do not like it.

Is anyone aware of one made of parkerized metal?

Be aware that the Fulton piece is simply the DPMS number at a higher price. Just about all the AR15 pieces that Fulton sells comes straight from DPMS.

This is the best solution:
www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=17158&title=AR-15+PUSH-BUTTON+RECEIVER+PINS

I have been using them of years. The pin will not work its way out like the cheap DPMS version.

both DPMS and Brownells are selling KNS push pins and for the same price so whichever has cheaper shipping is best.
