I thought this repair from Khalan Weaponry looked interesting.
Pretty good idea actually.

Good God, what a PITA..............not a chance in hell would i pay to have that done for a TG ear. I would cut them both off or bond the broken piece on then install a MIAD full kit, and i don't even like the MIAD that much. I will say, quite creative and he did a nice job.

Edit for spelling.

F all that! First off, support it so you don't break it. If you do F up and break it, get another and don't look back. Unless you're working on an irreplaceable original, a new one won't cost much more with a whole lot less headache and heartache.

The owner did not want the replace the lower for reasons unknow so he brought it to me to see if I could fix it.

It has a happy switch. Probably a registered MG. Or maybe not?

You'd think Khalan weaponry, if they can know enough to repair a lower like that, would know it's a FA lower.

I think that was sarcasm.  i.e. "for some UNKNOWN reason".  Khalan knows their stuff.

Must be a heart breaker to damage a FA registered receiver.

I saw this yesterday but lost track of the thread.

That surely is a unique way to repair the ear. I missed seeing the sear pin though. And that would be the only reason to consider such a labor intesive repair.

Since that post is from the man himself, recommend we defer to his post.

or.. you could have an experienced, certified tig welder repair it.  it would end up stronger than before and itd be less of a PITA
