Got a call from my FFL and my RRA upper finally came in.  Took much longer than expected since I went with the chrome lined barrel, but it sure does look nice!

Slapped it on my LMT Defender lower that I have had for a week fews and took a few pics.

Thought I share:

LMT Defender with SOPMOD & LEO Markings
RRA Midlength with Vortex and Chrome Lining

Looks like it came oiled, but I am sure I need to add more.

As this is my first rifle, what are some good suggestions before I take her out to the range.  Got ten 30rd mags (so far) and sitting on 2k rounds.  Bore snake a good cleaning tool for a chrome barrel?  CLP good for lub and cleaning finish?

Thanks for looking!!!!

Clp is the only lube you'll ever need.

make sure the upper is really well lubed.

In the Army, the rule of thumb was that with the upper removed from the lower and held at a 45 degree angle, barrel down, pull the bolt carrier all the way to the rear and let go of the carrier, it should slide forward and lock.

If it doesn't pass that simple check, break out the CLP and patches.

Have fun!!

This is the best manual out there for AR type rifles. Download it, learn it. live it, love it.

That looks pretty good.

I use a boresnake and a chamber brush with CLP on all my firearms. Works great.
