Guys-
New poster here, but long time shooter.
I am looking for a reasonably priced upper, M4, but with a mid-length handguard AND gas tube. I would also like a folding front sight.

Do any of you know of a company (Del-ton, J&T ect) that offers such a congifuration?

Thanks in advance for any information any of you can offer.

CMMG and Sabre offer Mid-length barrels.

Sabre barrels are sold many of the dealers in the Industry Section.

CMMG has their own website.

I am looking for a reasonably priced upper, M4 profile?...implies a 14.5"/16" barrel w/ carbine gas system, but with a mid-length handguard AND gas tube ???...see above. I would also like a folding front sight. On the barrel or on a rail?

Do any of you know of a company (Del-ton, J&T ect) that offers such a congifuration? If your after a "M4 profile", I don't think anyone makes one with a mid-gas system.

Thanks in advance for any information any of you can offer.

I'm sorry I wasn't much help...your post is a little confusing to me.

I can't think of anyone off hand that makes a mid length that has a folding front sight and normal mid length handguards.   My suggestion is to

1. Buy a regular mid length barreled upper and either put a free float tube on it and cut down your pinned front sight.  That was you can just mount a folding front sight on the FF tube.

2. Buy a regular mid length barreled upper and removed the pinned front sight/gas block and replace it with a railed gas block.  That way you can just mount of the front sight on the rail.

3. Build it yourself.

I know that Rock River makes Mid Length barreled uppers.  Delton and M&A also have mid length uppers.  They're going for about $400-$450.

Out of curiosity why do you want a folding front sight?  It's not like you are going to notice it through a magnified optic or even that much through an aimpoint or eotech.  Anyway Hope this helps some.

Armalite makes a 16 inch mid-length barrel with a railed front sight base.  You can buy a folding or detachable front sight.  It is basically an A4 at both ends.  You have to download the catalog to see it.
