Hi, Guys i really need some help here. i just assembled my first DIY AR-15 by following information i got this site and brought it to range yesterday. it seems like it cannot reject empty shell correctly and cannot fire semi-auto. i have to pull back latch to make it reject empty shell. could you please tell what i did wrong during the assembly? |
Fixed it for ya Sounds like a gas problem. Possibly you didn’t install the gas block correctly, or the gas tube, or....... There are a lot of possibilities. Run through the checklist of build procedures and check your work. You can also take it to a reputable gun smith to check your work. Given your obvious lack of experience due to your unfamiliarity with the correct terminology, I’d suggest having a smith look at it. I’m not trying to be a jerk, just calling it as I see it. |
| Using the tube supplied with WD-40 or another spray oil, stick that inside the end of the gas tube in the receiver. Spray a little, and then look down the barrel to see if the oil sprayed through the tube and gas port into the barrel. Do not have your eye in line there while spraying or it may get in your eye. |
