| im kind of new to the technichal side of the AR platform just wanted to know if the new"COLT upper i bought from a guy was actually a colt it has an "F" and in front of the F is a shape that looks to me like an hour glass it also has the white T marked reffrence points milled into the rail |

I was under the impression that colt Lazer engraved there T numbers? I also thought that colt Receivers have a C beside the Forge marking. I think that F would make it an FN upper. Here's a helpfull link www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=223495  or it would have been if the links worked

The F on the front sight base is specific to the front sight. The Forge markings on the upper can at times be the same between manufacturers. The barrel should have some info on the top of it in front of the front sight base C MP 1/7 NATO. So my first question would be to ask you what your barrel says. |
