I've been hanging out on the site for the last several months reading post and trying to learn.  Just the other night I put together my first lower (stag lower with DPMS LPK), and I have newbie question to ask - exactly how tight should the pivot pin be?  All the manuals say that you should be able to push it out with a punch but that isn't happening. head.gif
I don't really want to take a hammer to the punch but will if that's the only way to get the pin back out so I can eventually put and upper on it.
Thanks for the help.

OIl the pins and work them in and out.

On almost all my builds (4) the pins wrere tight at first, but then wore in.

Give them a tap and give them some juice then you can work them in and out.

You're not only working the pin in the lower but you are working the pin against the springed detent.

I usually apply a liberal amount of lube in the detent hole as I assemble.  It makes the whole process work a little easier.
