Does anyone know why Mega lowers are so unavailable these days? It's as if the company has gone out of business. Anybody know anything?

Because making AR uppers and lowers isn't the main focus of their business. They are a CNC house for precision aircraft/military industry components. Making the AR parts was just icing on the cake. They had the machinery, so why not make a few AR parts?

That is why you must buy a few Mega lowers whenever possible. I grabbed my 2 lowers and matching Mega uppers from Rainier Arms as soon as some were in stock. Get 'em while they are HOT.

I too kept watching the Rainier Arms site for the 'out of stock' note was turned off.  Then I hit them up immediately.

May want to rethink that, I got 2 lowers and matching uppers a month or so back and they are the loosest fitting uppers and lowers I have ever handled. I was dissapointed. I'd hate for some one else to feel that way to when they pin them together. Man are they cool looking, but loose.

I might have just got a couple of bum ones who knows? They seem to have a well spoken reputation around here, which is what sold me on them.

It shoud be noted that I have to press my stag together to pin the upper and lower together.

I'm suprised to hear that. Mine are a nice snug fit.

You got a lemon, bro. Both of my Mega sets are tighter than a frog's ass. They definitely beat the hell out of my rattle-box LMT and Bushy receivers.

would you guys recomend mega lowers over the noveske lowers? Gona put noveske uppers on them, but they arnt going to be factory assembled guns. One im building a pistol on and the other is for an SBR a little further down the road, dont want to hassle with the paper work right now and cant since im in IL. Im moving a s nicer state soon so then i can put it together.

Thanks

I would recommend Mega lowers over almost any other typical forged lower. The gator grip is unique, and the Teflon finish is a rich and deep black.

However, if you are going to use a Noveske upper, you may want the Noveske lower so the finish matches. I believe only a CMMG upper would match a Mega lower (they also Teflon-coat).

I got one of each when I ordered from CWS, compared and fondled both of them for several days before choosing which one to start first. I can say the noveske is every bit as awesome if not more so than the mega. I bought a mega because they're not always around, and I bought the noveske because you just simply can't find em anywhere. Comparing it to others, it would appear  they finished it a bit before anodizing  because it's absolutely perfect. I found a couple very slight tooling marks on the mega and in the same spot the noveske was  immaculate. I'd recommend both equally, the mega finish is so beautiful and dark. I'll probably buy another of each if I can before they run out. I'd hate to see something like the noveske's not be made available again.

The loose fit isn't really that bad.  It won't affect much if anything.  Shoot em.

Im thinking of buying an "investment" quantity of the Mega lowers.

Maybe Ill look into the uppers as well.

I have personal options though that I want to do so Im pretty much gonna call them direct and see if they can fit my requirements.

All of my AR's currently are on Mega manufactured lowers.  I love 'em.  Before I sold my gun company, I had Mega sub-contracted to build all of my lowers (with my logo and variance). I still have the first 7 serial numbers...

Mega lowers have a fantastic finish, are excellently machined, and the gator grip is cool.

Can't say enough good about them.
