Hopefully, I am in the correct forum.
I just bought a spare extractor and spring & buffer(??) assembly.
How do I get the little springy and bumper inserted into the recess in the extractor?
Is there a right way and a wrong way to do this?? I don't want to mangle the little spring.
I just wish people would sell the extractor assembly complete.

Thanx.

The extractor spring should be larger on one end than the other.  Put the extractor buffer in the spring (small dense rubber part to stop extractor bounce) and push the large end of the spring into the circular recessed boss in the extractor.  It won't really snap in with an audible click, but if you push it in flat, it will stay on the extractor so you can install the extractor in the bolt.

It will actually kinda snap in or atleast fit flush in the recess hole. I install mine by twisting the spring  as I push down. I think I might have used a  small pair of pliers The Colt Golds was really a booger to get seated correctly. WarDawg

Got it.

Thank you all.....I did use a needle nose pliers to help "push down" then spring to seat it.
