Gentleman and ladies respectively,
Recently, I aquired an AR that was a mixmatched throw together.  Considering that it was given to me, I won't complain about the abundant problems that I have encountered.  Many were solved by purchasing a new DPMS flat top, chrome lined upper.  However, the lower is still giving me a myriad of problems.  For one, I think that the bolt catch spring is too strong (I believe that it is a long spring that has been cut down), which means that the mag follower doesn't have enough umph to do it's job.  However, I have been exploring the possibility that the bolt catch may need to be stoned down to provide less resistance.

Also, some of the internals need to be swapped out, and I would like to know which parts kit would be recommended, if anyone would be willing to share.  Considering that the lower was made by Olympic Arms, I believe that this weapon still has potential to be built into a shooter.

All in all, I am not a fan of "jerry rigging" a firearm, and would like to restore this one to a comfortable operating condition.  So, any advice and suggestions would be welcomed warmly, and greatly appreciated.

Get a new lower parts kit.  I've used DPMS kits to good effect, though with your lower I would go with a higher quality LPK like a CMT/Stag or RRA.

Denny's has a CMT LPK for $64 shipped.  www.globaltactical.com/axami/shop.php?grd=235
