I have a bushmaster 20" HBar that I am planning on sending to AR15barrels for a full de-HBar.  So I have removed the handguards, gas tube, sightbase and removed the barrel from the upper.  I wanted to have the barrel turned down to a mid weight profile, shortened to 18” and have a muzzle device permanently installed, my question is this: how will I put my sight base back on with a muzzle device permanently installed?

Why are you permanently installing the muzzle device?  It is not necessary on barrels over 16".  Or, you could have the folks at AR15BARRELS do it, but it seems unnecessary...

Here in MA we still have a AWB.

I may be wrong but a 'compensator' is ok while a 'flash hider' or 'threaded muzzle' is not.  Regardless of barrel length the muzzle device must be permanently attached to make the threaded muzzle feature useless.

Feel free to correct me on this one.

Wow, that sucks.

SO, your options are:

Muzzle device installed by the shop turning down your barrel.  FSB installed by them also.
Purchase a clamp on, such as the kind sold by Armalite
Purchase a complete barrel assembly from AR15Barrels, and sell your existing on EE to offset the cost.

There is no need to perm a muzzle device on an 18" barrel. So you will be able to reassemble and install the muzzle device. But, i'm sure Randall will reinstall the FSB for you. May or may not cost a couple bucks, but worth it, if you are concerned about it.
