I have what I was told was an RRA upper, I am replacing the gas block on it with a YHM gas block with a flip up site. The pin that holds my current gas block on is tapered, however, the yhm gas block looks like it is not tapered.

Do I need to get a replacement pin for this or is the old one still good?

Er...is it this one:

No taper pins.  Just four set screws. It is a clamp on type.

This is the one I am getting. I am refering to the pin that actually goes through the gas tube itself.

The Yankee Hill uses a standard gas tube roll pin.

Gas tube pins are straight.
If yours is tapered, that's because the old gas tube pin holes did not align well and one end of the old pin is mashed down smaller.
Use a new pin when you put it all back together.
