Any ideas why my trigger pin keeps walking out?  It is a Stag lower with a DPMS LPK.  My other build with my DPMS lower with a Del-Ton LPK is perfect.

I did try new hammer and trigger pins as well as replaced the hammer and trigger spring and after 5-10 rounds the trigger pin drifts off to the left.  It drifted so much today at the range the trigger stopped working

Do you think I should replace the trigger and hammer?  Does it matter which way you install the pins (grooves)?  Any advice would be great.

Thanks

At least one leg of the hammer spring must be on top of the trigger pin to engage the rataining slot.  This is a very common mistake.  If you have one leg of the spring cut for the '10 minute trigger job', the remaining leg must be on the groove, and then the pin must be installed in the appropriate direction for the spring leg to engage..

I didn't do the 10 minute trigger job.  All stock.

Both legs of the hammer spring are resting on the trigger pin.

What is the proper direction to install the pins?

if your hammer springs has both feet and they are above the trigger pin then direction of the trigger pin does not matter.

You could always try KNS pins.

Is the hammer spring installed correctly on the hammer?

Shine a light down into the lower and make sure the hammer spring is resting on the triger pin.

I might need KNS pins.  Wanted to find a fix before I shell out the money on them.  Yes the hammer spring is installed correctly.  Just compared it with my other 3 AR's.  And yes the hammer spring is resting on the trigger pin.  Any other ideas?

You could try deepening the grooves in the trigger pin with a small jewelers file. A deeper groove should provide more grip for the hammer spring.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll give that a try tonight.  And test at the range tomorrow.  I have some loads I am working up right now I need to test tomorrow.  I'll kill 2 birds with one stone.
