I just finished installing a FF rail on my barrel.  I am trying to put the A2 hider back on but for some reason it isn't clocking correctly.  When tightened the openings are  tilted too far to the left, almost like my AK's slant brake.  I tried reversing the washer and removing it but none of those ideas worked.  What's going on?  Am I doing something wrong?  I am using the flash hider and washer supplied with the barrel, which is a 16" Operator barrel.

if you removed the flash hider from the barrel you are going to need a new crush washer... if you are installing it for the first time, you just need to keep twisting till the crush washer flattens out and the hider is timed properly...

I am installing it for the first time, the barrel came with the flash hider screwed on only slightly.  I figured that's what i needed to do, but was skeptical because it's gonna take a lot more than 20 ft-lbs to torque it around.  Not trying to strip the threads on a $300 barrel Thanks for your help!

if you're really nervous... buy a peel washer...

Just installed it, no problems.  I guess I was timid because I couldn't find any literature on installing them so I was unsure of just how much torque I could place on them.

On the same note, is there a correct position on the peel washer?

I just installed a A2 f/s on a 20" yesturday, I always use peel washer.

When you guys timed you f/s, do you have the solid part streight at bottom?

Or off just a little, so follow up shots are quicker?
