I have a 40 cal Pistol. A fellow here gave me the deal on how to make the perfect buffer for a 9mm or 40 for use in the Model one short pistol tube.  I decided to get another pistol upper this is a 223, I was going to say with the 9mm so I could use the same buffer but some how I ended up buying a 223.  Now my question is wha t is the best buffer and tube for this cal.  To be honest I am not real thrilled thinking about shooting a 223 pistol. I had a 44 mag and absolutly hated  it.   I only shot 44 spl out of the thing.  My hand hurt for a week if I used the 44mags.  Is this what a 223 pistol is going to be like.  I know ask first next time.

Nah... a .223 AR pistol is mild compaired to a 44mag revolver.  Not even in the same league.  It will be loud though!

He's right, The .223 pistol will be less recoil than even a .357 mag revolver.

You should be able to use your other buffer just fine, if it is close to a factory 9mm buffer (not sure of how you made your other buffer) but if it works in the 40cal, it should work in the 223. Or, you can just use an "H" buffer (carbine) or standard 9mm buffer.
