[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Which Larue Freefloat?

I've decided to get a larue quad grip/freefloat tube because of all the positive feedback that I've found online, but I'm not sure about which one to get... I've got an M4 clone 16"barrel, M4 grips, M4 profile (light under the handguards) barrel. I want to keep the FSB, what size should I get, the 7.0 or the 9.0? All the pictures I've seen are very misleading in to what length I need.

You'll need a 7.0 for a carbine gas system or a 9.0 for a midlength gas system. You said M4, so i say you need 7.0

I don't, but you see, there's this guy here name Mfingar, and HE'S got pictures of EVERYTHING. Make a thread and call it "Paging Mfingar" and/or pic request of a midlength larue on carbine and you'll see it in notime. It's honestly what I'm going to do next.

Ok, just bought it, it's on backorder and I called them and it should ship about this time next week. I'm psyched to be getting one right off the machine. I'll post some pics when I have it all together.

Yep, when I orderd it and it said backorderd I gave them a call and they said it should ship in a week from the day I orderd it, well 9 days later, I had it on my rifle.

Sweet!! I'm going to call and see, maybe they didn't update there website yet, it could be in stock. I got one more question, maybe a stupid one, but after installing the handgaurd is the front sight post in line or does it have to be adjusted and re sighted in?

As long as you use the same FSB and pins it should be the same. At least that's what my impression is, I haven't shot it yet because I'm at school now. I plan on going maybe sunday if i'm not too tired from spending friday, saturday, and partially sunday in the woods with an M249...I'll be sure to let you know!
