I am set to order a 7.5" pistol kit. I was going to order my kit from Model 1 Sales, however, I have read several complaints about their kits. Who sells the best 7.5" kit? Thanks for the input. |

I have 3 Model 1 Sales uppers and have had no problems what so ever with any of them. Customer service used to be hit or miss but my recent experience with them (2 weeks ago) was great. I believe they have made improvements in that department. I know a lot of people bash their kits but they use quality uppers, Shaw barrels and all of my bolt carriers have been properly staked. I ordered a 24" SS, fluted, Varmint upper recently and they gave me my choice of a Stag or LAR upper receiver. My 10.5" pistol upper has never had a ftf or fte in over 800 rds. I know some people don't care for Model 1 and I complained about CS but I've never had a problem with the products they sell. If I were you I would go with the 10.5" pistol barrel -- much more reliable and not nearly as loud. |
Hi, Thanks for the information. Why is a 10.5 inch more reliable? Thanks again. |

I had a DPMS 7.5" pistol upper before the I switched over to the 10.5" -- I could never get the 7.5" to run with any reliabilty. Mostly ftf, I tried a heavier buffer and it didn't change anything. Maybe it was this particular upper but I've read about other people having problems getting the 7.5" pistols to run with reliability on this site. I switched to a 10.5" pistol upper and haven't had a problem since and muzzle flash and concussion was greatly reduced. Maybe someone else on the board can give you some input? Just letting you know my firsthand experience. I love the 10.5" barrel and will SBR it as soon as I can afford it. My 10.5" upper is very accurate as well. Hope this helps. |
