I got one of these from CTD.  I like it.  There's a nipple on the end of the accessory compartment that engages the gap between the rails to secure the VFG in place.

Anybody know of another/more secure method?  

I was thinking either a bolt and nut or a zip tie through the holes and railed handguard.

That's how the KAC grip is secured and it is very rigid.

It seems pretty secure, don't get me wrong.  But I'm a "Dummy Cord" friendly kind o' guy.  I like redundancy!
