| I'll have to wait a few more weeks for a range day--we still have a couple feet of snow on the ground here. The reticle is the ballistic plex which I'm looking forward to trying out. I'm also anxious to see how the Olympic pneumatic buffer works. It's very smooth and consistant resistance when working the action by hand. As far as the one-piece mount, everything I've always worked with in the military had either the knobs or levers on the left side--seems it would look strange with them on the right. |
I hear ya. And especially with that mount, it aint a big deal, as long as you can get a good check weld. Most will mount a scope much farther forward than where you have it... and that mount has a slight offset to allow for more forward scope mounting. In a nose to CH scenario - the scope objective is typically just above the CH. Yours is way back. But, for the TPS stock, I just stick my check on the leading edge of the cheekpiece, and slide the scope back and forth until I get the correct eye relief. I do this in the prone and seated position, to ensure it will be comfortable in either. Generally, for me - that puts the scope a bit more forward than you. If you look at the Armalite or LaRue mounts, they place the rings farther forward to accomodate for this. |
