My shtf gun is a stock Bushmaster carbine which to date, has performed flawlessly.
While shooting my varmint AR the other day the claw area, or tip of the extractor in the
bolt sheared off. This bolt and carrier are also Bushmaster.I realize that even good parts can break over time with hard use or stress, although the varmint upper has seen neither stress or abuse.

I was planning on ordering two spare AR15 bolts for my guns before this happened anyway, along with parts for same, springs, ejectors, extractors, etc. My first thought was
to get bolts and parts from J and T Distributing, with whom I've done buisness with
before.

I'm looking for the best, the most reliable bolt I can find for the shtf gun in particular.
What better choices are there than Bushmaster, Colt, Armalite, etc.? Your suggestions
are appreciated.

After reading through many similar threads one of the bolts always reccomended is the one from LMT.  So I just recently ordered a bolt carrier group from Bravo Company for $130 (obviously just the bolt alone would be cheaper.)  The one thing I have gathered that is most important is to get a bolt that has been MP tested.  I am very excitied to hurry up and get my build finished so I can see the fruits of my labor realized!!!

Agreed Colt, LMT, CMT and FN are the best. I actually prefer the LMT very well made and come with the crane O ring installed. Stay away from non mpi inspected bolts for shtf weapons.

My second choices are LMT and Denny's Global Tactical MP tested CMT bolts.

I would also recommend upgrading your extractor spring with either ISMI Chrome Silicone or Wolff extra power springs plus either the MGI D-Fender or Crane O-ring.

Be sure to regularly replace worn extractor springs and O-rings when worn out.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Checked out LMT and Colt, both look like they will do
the job.
