| Why should I order a chrome bolt and carrier and a chromed lined barrel? I don't recall that my army issue M16 had a chrome bolt. And I never had any problems with that weapon. The barrel looked very shiny after each cleaning though the bolt was not chromed. Other than the standard stuff, is there anything else I should get with the kit / upgrades? |

I have a del-ton kit on the way (will be here tomorrow afternoon) and as of a couple days ago they were out of the chrome bolt and carriers. They told me that they order them in bulk and it would be at least a couple of weeks until more come in. Excellant customer service though, I would order from them again in a heartbeat. I upgraded a step further and got the titanium bolt and carrier. I don't know if it really matters, but I figured I should step up instead of down. This is my first AR and build so we will see. Good luck. Pedro |

I live in Cecil County, about 45 minutes away from Baltimore, and I am not too familiar with that area. There is a public outdoor range near me (Elk Neck State Forest) that has a 100 yard rifle range and a 50 yard pistol range. It's $10 a day, or $50 a year and you have to bring your own target stand. It's usually nice and quiet though, not too many people during the week. If you are willing to make the drive it's worth checking out. Oh and by the way, I just finished my first AR kit from Del-ton tonight. The kit was fantastic, but my Superior Arms lower required some dremel-foo on the bolt and mag release. All in all it worked out well though, flat-top mid-length with green furniture. Now I just need more mags and more ammo. Pedro |
