Getting the urge to put another CAR together, but want it in a different caliber. The 6.8 SPC has my interest but after checking out the online ballistics of the cartrige on remington's web sight I am a little leary. I want something more powerful than the 223, and something with the edge on 7.62x39 (got enough of those). The velocities of 2640 look impressive, but that is out of a 24" barrell, that will put the velocites of the 6.8 spc out of a 16" barrell down around the velocities of a 7.62x39. What velocities are you guys getting out of your 16" 6.8 SPC's? Am I better off building a 20" rifle? What velocities can I expect out of a 20 inch pipe? I have had excellent results with my 223 kits from JT Distributing and would like to get my kit through them. I don't have 2500 bucks to put a PRI rifle together, if I did I would buy me a supermatch M1a. I have about talked myself out of putting one together, but I need a new rifle, talk me into it!!!! Thanks in advance. |
