Anyone had any luck changing/hiding/ lower reciever markings.  I just finished my new 6.8 and its really cool but...It says "rifle 5.56 mm"(not cool).  Its a Eagle Arms lower if that makes any difference.  I know I could have used a 6.8 reciever, but I had 3 sequential lowers that I used for 5.56 varmit, 5.56 pistol, and 6.8 deer rifle.  Thanks__Allen

I don't know how  you would go about that without messing up the anodizing, etc.  I have 9mm carbines that say 5.56mm on them and it doesn't really bother me.  It doesn't seem to affect the accuracy at all  I would just shoot the crap out of it and one day buy a 6.8 lower and then use this one on another 5.56 build.  Take care.  GS

I've seen some posts.  it may have been Tom Sawyer though and he's not in business anymore.  As I recall he would weld over the engravings then grind it flat.

Yeah,  I know,  Just kinda bugs me a bit(lot).  My pistol says rifle but I have a letter of certification as a stripped lower so I don't worry about the legality.  Still, things like that just bug the crap outta me.Thanks__Allen

Aaah. The obsessive/compulsive personality. Tell me son; have you consulted a mental health professional about this?

I was thinking more along the lines of Acuglass then sand it and finish with Aluma-hide.

I refinished one in green gunkote where the guy filled the lettering and logo in with JB Weld.  He sanded it smooth after filling the lines.  Looked good when it was done.  Unfortunately, I didn't take pics of it.  And no, I have not tried it myself.  Just my .02 worth.
