I'd go with a STAG kit. Inexpensive and excellent quality.  There's a couple of dealers selling them on the EE.

Search the equipment exchange for "Stag kit", it should bring it up. Good kit for $629 shipped I think it is. Not enjoy an AR? HAHAHAHAHA! You will have 3 within the next year if you build/buy one.

Nevermind here are some. Same kit I think, just better pics in one, 10 bucks cheaper in the other. In no way affiliated with either.

Stag Kit 1
Stag kit 2

I have a M1S carbine build and it is fine. You will hear stories about broken bolts but I know people that have broken Colt bolts. The trigger sucked but I replaced it later as funds came availible.

Read the troubleshooting threads and see who has the most gripes.

My opinion on whose kits to use:
J&T/Doublestar--Yes.
Model 1--No.
M&A--Hell No.
Don't save $25-$50 on a kit and hate the experience.

But that's just my opinion.

Del-Ton also has gotten good reviews I believe. I have never personally bought from them, but plan to as funds allow.

Del-ton is excellent quality.  I've purchased quite a few items from them and have been treated well each time.

Similar set up to what you are looking at from model1.

J&T kits aren't bad.

Never used Del-Ton kits, but I have purchased high end parts from them with success.  They give me ARFCOM price reductions at the shows.

The old saying you get what you pay for holds true here! Yes you can buy an inexpensive kit and probably get a so-so rifle out of it. Spend a little bit more and have a better one. I have owned cheap ARs along with mid priced and expensive ARs.I don't own any Cheap ARs now!
