I decided to rebarrel my varmit build with a WOA SPR barrel.  I just bought a action block last week and was excited to do it myself.    Tightened the barrel nut on, removed and was going to do this three times.   Second time around my action block  cracks in half throwing my barreled receiver to the floor puttting dings on the receiver and Vortex flash hider (which i just wanted to see what it looked like on).   The tooth of the barrel nut is right @12 oclock and the nut is tightened to spec.   Much hate and cursing was expelled over the weekend thinking about this disaster,  this morning i found some wood and got my nut tightened  to the next tooth.   ALMOST done and i have lost the freakin gas block pin to hold the gas tube in.

OK, its not as bad as i could have been.

I am almost done and i need a pin for my gas tube, anyway to buy that size pin at a hardware store or does it have to be made from specfic metal?

any 5/64 roll pin shuld work.  the pin primarily locks location, the load on it is not great. It depends on your gas block the length you can use, the forged base uses a 5/16 long pin if I recall correctly, some of the varmint gas blocks could use a 1/2" long pin and still cover well. The catch is finding a hardware store with 5/64 pins. In emergency situations I have use drill shanks cut off.

Easy builds are not fulfilling. Tough ones build character.
