So after deliberating for the better part of a year, and seeing some new stuff on some other members builds, I have decided to jump in with both feet, and do my first full build. Before I start ordering components, I wanted you guys to pick my list apart, let me know what I can do better on, or whatever. Keep in mind the following: I am behind enemy lines in NY, so this has to be a post-ban compliant build, as I have post-ban lowers to work with. (LRB for the curious). Also, this build has a few criteria based on use. It is going to be my bedside companion, and light-weight / durability also as my primary bug-out weapon. It will likely never be used beyond 100 yards, and that only at the target range. In my house, or on my property, from face-to-face to 50 yards is the realistic engagement distance, and even that is stretching it. Durability is very important to me, so I want to overbuild as much as possible, but light weight and compact ban-compliant package is also very important. Upper ABS carbon fiber Rock 5R premium bbl. 14.5” PRI Pinned muzzle brake for NYS compliance LaRue stealth upper PRI low profile gas block PRI Gen III C.F. FF tube, carbine length Gas buster charging handle TD vert grip Lower LRB lower and LPK Ace Skeleton stock, possibly the shorty if OAL is compliant McCormick drop in single stage trigger Magpul MIAD grip Denny’s GTS superduty bolt and carrier group Hydro buffer Optics and lights TBD, but likely an EOTech, as I have a couple, and am comfortable with them, and Surefire illumination. Not going to be a cheap build, but I want to do this right. [Flame suit on] What do you think? |

I've never used any of those things. I'd look at one of the M4 barrels w/fake flash hider that RRA sells, if I were you. It's AWB-compliant but still looks tough. www.eaglefirearms.net/ar15_barrels.htm |
