Thank you AR15.com! I bought a stripped lower a couple of months ago at the Gun Show and have spent a lot of time on this site. I completed the lower and shopped around for the upper. I ended up going with all RRA except for the mags. I ordered the completed upper from Pete on the EE and could not have been happier. Great service, fast turnaround, etc... Here are some details. Mid-length Flat top with detachable tactical handle 16" Stainless steel barrel 2 stage trigger Lightweight quad rail hand guard 6 position collapsible stock Cost: Stripped RRA lower: $159 RRA LPK w/ RRA 2 stage trigger: $145 RRA midlength flattop upper w/ Stainless Steel Barrel: $454 Free Float lightweight: $115 Detachable tact handle: $105 6 position stock: $69 2 30 round mags: $24 Total Build Cost: $1071.00 I ended up spending more than I wanted to, but I think I have built a great rifle. I was going to spend just as much or more for a shelf bushy or RRA factory completed rifle. I haven't field tested this yet, but will keep everyone informed as to how well it shoots. Thanks again AR15.com!!! http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c247/chainsawallen/AR15.jpg |
I changed my mind at the last minute! I actually sent Pete an additional $10 to cover the difference! I think I like to the A2 better, but I can always make that change if the right one comes along... Ghost - I think the lighting is just playing tricks on you. I looked closely and it looks pretty black! Thanks for the positive responses!!! |

Though I would have gone with a regular carry handle.
