I have a RRA lower and intended to make it a complete  RRA M4, but, have the opportunity on a great price on a STAG upper.  I have been told that Stag and RRA come off the same line.  Is this true?  If so, would I practically be building a complete RRA (but with a Stag stamped upper?)  Will the colors match up?

Need some knowledge guys.

thanks.

they may use the same forgings but that's it on the uppers..

rra used wilson bbls, while stag uses shaw bbls

i believe bolt carier groups are both CMT, but rra stakes the bc key correctly, while stag does not (unfortunately).

color match can vary but will be close with either one.

also RRA has lifetime warranty on their upper assy.

now, after all that, i'm no fan of the RRA upper/bbl assy!

I'm building the exact same thing.  Have my RRA lower built up, waiting on the Stag upper (should be Thursday).  I'll put up pictures when I assemble, if that helps.

The only thing I'm worried about is the notoriously tight fit of the RRA lower.

What's wrong with the way the Stag gas key is staked?

It is my understanding that CMT makes RRA/Stag uppers and lowers.

Yes, based on my knowledge.

I have no idea.

here's a pic from a 20" RRA and 16" Stag/CMT.  both uppers are complete factory assemblies.
