I'm in the process of removing the buffer tube and I don't want to scrog anything up. The tube seems to be on the lower really good and I dont have a lower block to hold it in a vise. Any tips on getting it to let go or anchoring tips for holding the lower in a vise? Also (here comes the stupid) am I correct in using the nut fixture on the back end of the tube to torque on for removal? Thanks in advance.![]() trashcan |

Yes - nut on end of tube is for tightening/loosening. Lefty-loosey, righty-tighty. It may be Loctited on and may thus require heating up a bit with a hair drier or heat gun. I always just pin the receiver to the floor with my knee, ghetto-style and crank on it. ETA: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=295288 |
