Just wondering if anyone has purchased and built a kit from ZM-Weapons. I really like the folding stock, and was wondering if their kits were any good. I'm partial to the SBR upper kit they have.

Any pics you have would be awesome!

Looking to do something like this:

I don't think I can justify spending 12-1300 on a kit. If I was going to do that i would just go buy the dang thing already put togeather.

I would be all about one with the side folder. Nice and compact. It would fit in my gear bag.

ZM Weapons

The ZM is not a gas piston. It uses the same system as a standard AR, but with a shorter carrier and a looong gas tube/carrier key ass'y. The recoil spring is attached to the gas tube with a retainer like that on an AK. The key/tube ass'y is taller than the stock AR's, so the upper has a deeper groove machined in it. Had the key/tube been the same height as the standard, it would almost be a drop-in system (don't know why ZM did it that way). The forward assist is different b/c of the shortened carrier. Since there is no pressure on the key similar to that exerted by gas piston systems, this would seem be the way to go. This should run cleaner and cooler, b/c the gas isn't discharged inside the upper after only a short distance travel by the carrier.
