There are no "A1" versus "A2" buffer tubes.... all *rifle* length buffer tubes are of the same dimensions.  The A2 just added a spacer in the stock, and a longer screw, to add an extra inch or so of length.

The tap size is 1-3/16x16.  I found the info on this site.

Im going to need a die not a tap  Im wanting to make buffer tubes  I dont even care if there hollow as im not planning on useing them on ar projects  

so im thinking 1 1/4 inch diamter tubing?  Never could find that info on page listed

Yes, I would think so.  According to the charts I've seen, drill size is 1 1/4"  for the tap  so, it should be the same OD for the die.
