Lots of Kobalt benches out there! Here's my shop... still need to add a vice and a few other assorted goodies. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h11/fyeguy/workshop.jpg |
OK well that didnt work so photo on bottom of page one I Have that same target hanging in my Garage I even got creative and put red paper behind it |
That's strange... I've got a nut that looks identical to that one. My dad brought it home from his shop and gave it to me as a paperweight. If I remember correctly, it was a nut for some part of a big boat. Since you’re in Oregon, (which is close to Washington) I wonder if it came from the same shop… or was part of the same order at a different shop. Interesting. |
It's just a big nut. For example, you can get a 4"-4 nut from McMaster. Pricey though, $125 EACH... www.mcmaster.com Part number: 90490A321 Drawing: |
The experience of the machinist is MUCH more important that the technology of his tools. Given the newest and best tools, an in-experienced machinist can still screw up parts. The Lathe is a 2004 model. The Mill is a 1983 model. The Surface grinder is a 1974 model. They just don't make machine tools (that I can afford) like they used to. Older machines are a good value if they are in good condition which all mine are. |

Good Stuff, You guys serve as inpiration for me to actually get to work in the garage and get things put together. Alas, it's goin gto be the garage shop for me, we wanted something close to our jobs so I passed on the big shop out back sort of thing. But at least I have a 1.5 mile commute to work and the better half has a 4 mile commute. So it's worth it I suppose. Love all the pics folks, good stuff. Good for ideas. |

Yep, this thread inspired me as well. just like legonas, I live in an apartment, so I gotta fit everything in my bedroom. Here's a pic of my humble little workspace which i built last weekend right there at the foot of my bedhttp://plaza.ufl.edu/rstarowe/Bench/workbench.jpg A full set of realoading $h1t is in the mail from midway (the main purpose i built the bench was to be able to reload again). This thing cost me in the ballpark of 40 bucks for materials at lowes. I just need some shelving across the rear now. ETA:
I bet you are wrong |
And he's got the kegerator under the bench as well... |
