Check out PK Firearms. They are listed in the Industry section.

Del-ton has the mid-length barrels in, but they're waiting on the mid-length gas tubes.  I don't know about a kit, but they'll be selling mid-length uppers soon, anyway.

Good to know! I have had excellent service from them and would prefer to use them again

They have one non-tacked thread in their industry forum (at least only one I can see), and it's where I asked them and got the above info.

Based on your question, you sound like most of us, (guys who will never be happy with standard issue parts kits). Good for you! IMHO, spend a few extra bucks, pick your favorite parts, and build it exactly the way you want it. If you are happy with it when it's built, you'll have a keeper. That's what I did and I haven't regretted it.

Denny's Guns (www.globaltactical.com) sells an outstanding 1x7 16" mid-length stainless recon barrel, made to his specs by White Oak Armament. Nice barrel, Check it out! Really accurate and shoots great. Although not a kit, his shop can put it together for you with other top shelf components of your choice.

Also, John Noveske (www.noveskerifleworks.com) makes some of the best 1x7 midlength barrels. He has both a 16" and a 14.5" midlength with a perm attached FH to make it 16" civ legal. Although you will have less of a choice in what other parts he uses, John's complete upper builds are world class. Pricey, but world class!

Both of these guys are top notch and really know what they are doing. Enjoy.

Pricey and college budget = no go.

I've been thinking about just pricing it all out individually and going from there. I've just never done putting barrels on uppers and putting on free float hand guards my self. Assembling a stripped lower is one thing, I don't really trust my self on the other stuff.

This is solid advice, and what I did.  However, being on a budget Del Ton is probably your kit.  My first choice would be CMMG, excellent service and quality products.

Looks like del-ton's will only be 1x9, cmmg seems to be the best bang for the buck. Might have to go with them
