Does anyone sell any reasonably-priced carbon-fiber/kevlar/fiberglass free float handguard tubes? (or does anyone have an extra one lying around which could be purchased)? (rifle-length)

You can get one from Armalite.

Thanks, sniperx. Any idea if this tube could be used by itself as a forend, like a $300 PRI??

Yes, but it has no way to mount rails. You could get some screw on ones from
Bownell's and drill some holes in the tube and screw them on. I do not know how good
they would fit, though. What are you looking to do with it. I may have one of these laying around.

Thinking about an SPRish build, with a lightweigt free-float forend, with a couple of small screw-on rails attached. I've already got a couple of aluminum forends, and can't justify spending anything like $300 for a PRI tube. I'm sure the carbon-fiber PRI is a lot stronger than a national match fiberglass tube, but since the latter can take the strain of a tight sling hold, I'm sure it could handle a bipod and a weapon light. LMK what you've got.

PRI makes excellent carbon fiber forearms. IIRC, DPMS has some carbon fiber forearms. The DPMS ones are much cheaper than PRI ones.
