I have a 16" carbine upper, and  I want the handguard to just cover the gas block.  After looking around, I'm still a bit unsure of whether or not to get the 9" MRF-M or the 10" MRF-MX model to best accomplish this.  Even after measureing the length from my receiver to the end of the gas block, it is still in the fuzzy in-between area.   Any pictures of the front of one of these setups or advice would be greatly appreciated.   The gas block is a cut down FSB if that helps.

A  good picture of this is in the Guns and Ammo "Book of the AR-15".

Look at the acticle on the S & W  M&P15T on page 26. I believe that is a MRF-MX (10").

I did some searching on the M&P15T  and it is the 10".  Thanks KennyTX!
