Don't you find these Shoot-N-C super expensive?

Here is a good recipe.

- Self adhesive sheet (mine is orange of course)
- Matte black spray
- Scissors
- Olive oil

So simple that I won't say more!

This is the first test with my 9mm Beretta

I'm glad the group is not that bad!

ATTENTION: you really need a little bit of oil on the sheet so that the paint won't adhere too much.

do i understand this right?

stick the oragne to the target
paint it black (cool song )
when you shoot it, the black paint peels off around the hole thus exposing the (agent ) orange

That is a sweet idea - I have a 1-1/2" round leather punch, so I will just cut out a bunch of circles and have at it with the spray can.

Thanks,

Cool, I was trying to think of a way to make custom shapes. Now I need to find orange adhesive sheets.

Grazie mille!

Ironaria,
Cut the orange the size you like, then paint it black and then stick it to the target.
Remember that oil makes it work.

Just out of curiosity, what are you guys paying for shoot'n'c targets. I own a bait and tackle store. I have access to shoot'n'c targets I just don't have a market for them so I don't order them..

Very good idea, my girlfriend was just talking about this the other day how she likes to shoot with these things.

Now I can do a bunch cheap!

Great idea!  I love shooting with those targets, but it seems like I spend more on them than ammo.

Thanks for the tip!

Cool idea!  I buy Shoot'n'C targets from Walmart all the time.  Mostly the 3" circles.  This will save me some money.

Showed it to my girlfriend since she loves shooting these, she said we could pick some up from a local craft store (i.e ben franklin or michaels)

A similar method also works on those cheap baby dolls from the local toy store.  You can pick up a generic baby doll with a blow molded plastic head, paint it's head red and then paint a flesh color of your choice over that.  The cabbage patch kids work well but are expensive...

So what's the olive oil for?

Spell out the process for the dain bramaged ones here..

olive oil is to keep the paint from sticking too well to the orange.

not sure exactly how he applies it though...

Right!
You can actually try everything could make the surface a little bit greasy.
I tried the olive oil first because I first thought about this trick while I was making a salad.

I suggest putting the oil on a tissue and applying that on the self-adhesive plastic just to make its surface a little bit shiny.

Did anybody there already try?

I'm thinking you should get the PAM or olive oil cooking spray that comes in an aerosol can- get the cheapest stuff and apply a very light mist.  I might even go so far as to say you should try rubbing it off with a paper towel and then spray the black.

you don't want the entire black painted surface to shatter and fall off on the first shot!
