Building an AR last night and had a problem I've never had before.  The pistol grip screw from the DPMS kit would not fit the RRA lower.  EIther the screw was too big or the hole in the lower is too small.

Any ideas if that's normal?

I have had many RRA receivers whose pistol grip hole was not threaded all the way.

That doesn't sound normal to me.
Both my Ar's are built on RRA lowers with DPMS lpk's.
Both went together as normal.

Maybe you got a lpk with the wrong screw in it or maybe the lower is out of spec.

I know that wasn't much help.

Thanks.  I just wanted to make sure.  I've built the RRA/DPMS combo before without problems.

I'm almost convinced now that they dropped an A2 stock screw in the kit instead of a PG screw.

A Pistol Grip Screw and a A2 Buttstock Screw do not look simular.  You will not mistake them.  More than likely it is the lower receiver.  I have had many that I have had to finish tapping.

make a trip to your local hardware and get a 3/4" long 1/4 x 28 screw....stainless if they have them.
that's the correct size if you got a wrong one in your LPK....

or it could just be the anodizing is heavy in the threads....clean them up with a 1/4 x 28 tap
