All this Mega talk got me interested so I took the plung. Mega Upper & Lower , Del-Ton LPK, Del-Ton 16" Wilson barrel kit, Del-Ton bolt & carrier and I have a Armalite green A2 furniture on the way from a friend. Should be shooting it saturday. The Mega parts live up to thier reputation very nice finish and fit is excellent. Here is the update, got some time this afternoon and put it together less the stock, that will be here saturday. Went together fine the fit from lower to upper is very tight, any tighter and you would not be able to get the pin in. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/PatR/mega2.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/PatR/mega1.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/PatR/mega3.jpg |
Big +1 for great people to work with. Did you know you can call them and have machined letters put on the side of the upper where their mega logo is. Norcal |

Megas largest problem is their lack of being able to be consistant with production. The quality is high, but they don't seem to be able to stay on any sort of time table, or delivery schedule. I can understand that their main money is from Boeing and the aerospace industry, but Lane needs to pick up an extra machine or something for ARs. If you look at how many places sold Mega a year ago, and then look now, it has dropped by a large factor. When the CA factor is decided, and the hole is closed, there are a couple companies that are going to have to scramble. Shortsighted easy money can be blinding I guess. Who knows, maybe I would do the same thing if I were running a machine shop. |
