| I am thinking about an upper for myforst build. CMMG has a 14.5in upper with a phantom perminatly attacedh bringing it to 16 in. They also offer a YHM low porfile gas block as an option. I am thinking of putting on a rifle lenght lightweight railed FF forearm specificly the YHM model. Will I have to take the gas block or the phantom off to get the free float on. I imagine the FF handguard will fit over the gas block and the phantom but will the barrel nut. Being that the Jam nut fit over the barrel nut i think it will clear both parts. or should just save myself the trouble and allow YHM to install it as they offer free factory installation. |
| I'm thinking the float tube BBL nut wouldn't clear the gas block. You might as well have CMMG put the YHM float tube on. It's shown as a $140 option on their 14.5 Mid-Length Upper w/Permanent Phantom upper. YHM show it on their site as $159 + shipping your BBL/upper to them. The best price I've seen is eaglefirearms.net @ $119. Cheapest route would be CMMG installing it for you. |
