| Is it difficult to build your own upper? Is there anything I need to know or read? I was going to have Krieger do the chambering and want to use the Les Baer chromed bolt carrier ass. Do I have to do anything for the headspacing. I think everything else is a pretty simple put together. |

Assuming you have a good vice, and a good receiver block, and a good wrench, it's actually pretty easy to build an upper. A new barrel/barrel extension and a new bolt *should* be correctly headspaced by default. I've never checked any of mine, but some folks are picky about that sort of thing. |
| Thanks, yea I know how to take one apart and put it back together. I was wondering about BRAND NEW parts going together right. A friend told me that everything was kinda custom fit on assembly. Thats why I asked but I'm gonna order the parts and figure it out. Thanks. |

There isn't anything you need to custom fit during assembly...new or used, parts is parts as they say, and assuming you don't have some sort of ultra proprietry front end, you shouldn't have any trouble with new parts, used parts, or any combination. The only thing you have to worry about is make sure you're using a new bolt with the new barrel...don't take a bolt from another rifle. |
