I bought this in 1994, 2 days after the AWB Passed. It appears to be an actual Essential Arms Build, but the web site doesn't mention complete rifles. They are again building lowers. I've been happy with mine.

Nice carbine! I don't recall hearing about anything other than Essential Arms lowers either.

Talking to the owner, Essential Arms did build a few rifles for competition shooters on the local level. But most of their output has been just parts. They did have uppers in the matching gray to the lowers.

That's pretty cool. The upper has no marking on it at all. Fit and finish are excellent. There is no doubt in my mind that the upper and lower came matched. The shorty stock makes me wonder if the rifle has different furniture then when it left the Armory in the Swamp.

What shop did you purchase the gun from?

I bought it from a private individual. It was my first rifle purchase. It was 1994, just days after the AWB was signed. I did a transfer through an FFL at Edleman's in Montgomeryville, PA that is now out of business.

I have a lightweight built on an EA lower which looks similar to yours. The upper is a little darker than the lower,just like mine. I have an old Colt M16 upper,yours might be Colt also. Did you look for markings in front of,& above the ejection port,just behind the barrel nut? Colts will have a small square with a letter C in it, & a small triangle. These are often faint & easily overlooked.

I don't think EA made fully assembled carbines like that. I would assume it is a home built rifle on EA receivers. You can call EA though and ask.
