They are awesome lowers but they're also kind of hard to find online right now.  I've been lucky going with smaller local dealers who seem to be more "gun guys" than some of the big dealers in this area.  I don't know if they ship but...

You may try Mega Machine.  They may have a list of dealers.  Their website is still under construction but they do have contact information.

What is the difference between a Mega lower, DoubleStar, Stag ETC.??  Visually, they are very similar but Why a Mega Lower versus the Doublestar I just put together.

The biggest difference between them is the "gator grip" a texutred area on the front of the mag well that Mega machines into their lowers.  Mega also anodizes then teflon coats their lowers.  I find that makes for easier cleaning and a consistent finish.  Mega's machining is also top notch.  They take the time to clean up all the forging marks and radius the sharp edges.  I've seen quite a few companies give these same areas minimal attention.  It's not a big thing, mostly esthetic, but the fact that they take the time and labor to clean these areas up without charging a premium says a lot.

There's nothing wrong with Double Star or Stag.  I just chose Mega because I was very impressed with their work.

Carrico'z will return your e-mail IF you send him your FFL dealers info. It shows you are really interested and not just wasting their time. I just spent about a week and a half going through the same process and finally got an answer from them after they got the FFL lined up. hat
Hope this helps.

I was fortunate to get two of the Mega lowers from John at Rainier Arms. I am always impressed with the finish on these. Its great. That makes four of these Mega lowers for me. I will never go with anything else. The machine work is second to none. Did I mention the great finish?

Mega makes non-Gator grip lowers.
I have two of them.

Agreed, Mega is the finest lower I've handled with Stag being a close second.

Mega makes an excellent lower.

BUT, if you are building a rifle that you plan to GunKote, then the surface finish on the Stag lowers is much better suited for GunKote.

Anyone have experience with them?

I've built a  bunch of them with no issues of any kind.  I've also built RRA, stag, etc.  I have to say that I like them better than RRA.  In fact, they are one of my favorite lowers.  The finish is awsome as is the attention to detail.  If you purchase one, you will not be disappointed.

My mega lowers are all on the "small" side of the tolerances. Makes for harder installation of small parts, but better than on the looser side. However, also means not many mags drop free.

But the finish is awesome. They look great.  Perfect color match with RRA, terrible color match with BM. I love the gator grip.

That being said, all my future lowers will be Megas.
