I hope that picture was taken outside California, because that sure as hell doesn't look like a 10rd magazine (nor does it appear to be a fixed magazine!) The mag must be fixed AND 10rds or less to not be an assault weapon. If not, you've likely committed multiple felonies if inside CA. Look, nobody is in jail yet and nobody has been charged with anything. We'd like to keep it that way. The minute someone gets arrested and charged, case history begins and life gets harder for EVERYONE. However, if you do feel compelled to be arrested it could finally give us the media exposure we're looking for. Don't expect help with your legal fees though. Considering court costs will likely exceed $10,000 that's the most expensive Cali AR we've seen posted! |
I have nothing against people violating this unjust law, and if they are brave they can go ahead and build whatever they want. But why the hell would they post it on a public forum, especially one that would cooperate with law enforcement? Like I said, he probably took the photo out of state. |
True but sad. That the state we live in. He can build whatever he likes but don't post incriminating pics about what you decided to build. Alot of people have gotten lowers recently in hopes of building them up the way they want. I was smart and did most of my lower shopping in 1999. I warned alot of my friends back then and they did not listen to me. Now they are all over the lower craze that has happened in the last months. |

| You know... the gun laws in California REALLY suck. If I lived there and couldn't move I'd probably shoot myself. Only problem with that is they'd probably ban the class of gun and the ammo brand, and the caliber altogether, which means everyone else would hate me. |

I think he's doing the right thing by not replying. So long as he doesn't explain the situation on here, there's no way the law could prove that he had that thing built like that in CA. As far as breaking the law goes, I don't feel like going to jail for some gun, now THAT is retarded. Where would the world be without ITGs (internet tough guys)? |
Well, since you seem to want to blithely ignore mutliple FELONY charges, I'll give you your chance: Go take your AR, put a 14.5" barrel on it and install a lightning link. Post a picture. I will then acknowledge you have 5lb gold-plated "testicals". Penaltywise in CA, what snedigity appears to have done (as depicted in his initial post) is the rough equivalent to the compound Federal violations I'm hoping you'll demonstrate to us. But my weapon is very legal. I have contacted the DOJ on 3 times now and ask the questions. I am a non California resident on active duty, which resides on a federal installation with exclusive jurisdiction (Federal Law applies on base). As long as I don't take this weapon off base it falls under the Federal assault rifle act that has expired. I have a second lower that I am going to be building to California standards to take off base and shoot. Thank god I am not a California when it comes to my weapons. But thank you for all the comments. For military member that have AK and AR and are going to be transfered to California. You can register your weapon in the State of california and keep it as is. You just can't become a resident and you must remain on actuve duty. But thank you all for the comments. Snedigity |
Thanks for clearing that up before more people bashed you. It just shows that you can't assume that someone is doing something illegal (well, you can, but you take the chance of being wrong). |
