What would you consider some of the MUST HAVE tools for cleaning/maintaining/building AR15s?

I see that there are some specialized tools out there but can't most of those be replaced by common household tools? For example, is a barrel wrench absolutely necessary? How often do you actually remove the barrel?

Thanks.

"How often do you actually remove the barrel?"

Maybe you should have asked how often do you "Need" to remove a barrel.

I rarely need to remove a barrel but I often do just for fun!!!

My bad,

I knew it would finally catch up with me to get one of these responses. The thing is, I've looked in there and just forgot about it. I've actually read all the tacks. Again my bad.

Opinions from other would still be nice.

For building:

Punch Set - $15 at Home Depot
Rawhide Mallet - $30 at Brownells
Action Block - $35 at Bravo Company
Vice - Think I paid $5 for it a yard sale... was a little rusty, but spray paint works wonders..
Armorers Wrench - $30 at Bravo Company

Total without shipping was around $115 or so. Buy what you can locally, and buy the armorers tools from a dealer here

Definatly a worth while investment if you ever plan to completly build an AR(which is more than buying a kit really).
